How do i keep cut flowers fresh besides adding flower food in the vase?

Snip the ends and put sugar or asprin in the water.. keep the water fresh weekly. cool water.. not too cold. keep them by sun light in an airy area.
How do i keep cut flowers fresh besides adding flower food in the vase?
when you first get them, Snip off 1/2 inch from bottom and add the food into the vase, then each day add frest water and remove the dead/dying buds i would snip another 1/2 inch off the bottom each day too. Oh and don%26#039;t put them near direct sun, they wont last as long in heat.
